Sebastian Fishing Report

It was a beautiful day out on the water on Friday 03/30/12. Seas were calm and air temps in the mid 70′s. I put our lines in the water just east of Bethel Shoal in about 120′ and headed east out to 350′. We had 2 knockdowns by dolphin which we were unable to hook. A third knockdown in 240′ feet was a blackfin tuna crashing our shotgun tuna feather. He came out of the water and crashed the lure on his way back down. We had him hooked for about 30 seconds but we lost him. We stayed out in 250-350′ of water for 2 hours.

There was nothing out there. The radio was alive with everyone asking where the fish were. No one was getting anything out that far. Peanut dolphin were being caught on a weed line in about 150′ so we decided to head there because it was better than nothing.

We got to 150′ and dropped our lines in and hooked a really nice wahoo. It was a tough day of fishing but we put a wahoo in the box and a released a school sized dolphin. Just goes to show you perseverance pays off.
